Joseph, Mary and Jesus.
A Christian legend tells a story of how, during Mary’s trip from Bethlehem to Egypt with Joseph and Baby Jesus, she put her blue mantle on a rosemary bush, from where the herb’s blossoms got their colour.

Medicinal use:
Rosemary extract, specifically the type mainly consisting of carnosic acid and carnosol, is approved as a food antioxidant preservative in a number of countries.
